How do you build the foundational skills for reading comprehension and written expression?
Neuhaus Education Center's Oral Language & Listening Comprehension workshop has everything you need to build a solid oral language base, whether you're working with individuals, small groups, or whole classes.
Oral Language & Listening Comprehension is designed for students of just about any language level (ESL to native speaker) and learning style (mainstream, learning differences, or special needs).
Are you a classroom teacher, SENCo, tutor, or parent? Are you wondering how to systematically and explicitly build a strong oral language base?
Why Focus on Oral Language?
Having oral language allows students to:
Instantly recognize words they are decoding.
Attach meaning to words that are decoded.
File, store, and retrieve words and world knowledge.
Create vivid mental images.
Engage in inner dialogue so students can check their comprehension.
Use contextual clues more efficiently and effectively.
What You Will Receive
The 5 hour workshop will be conducted live over Zoom, led by Neuhaus Education Center's internationally certified instructors. All materials will be provided, as well as a 45 minute group follow up discussion to help you apply The Colors & Shapes of Language with your own students.
Oral Language & Listening Comprehension workshop hours are recognized CEU credits for the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) and the Academic Language Therapists Association (ALTA).
